Shelly Andrews Named Assistant Principal at James Wood High School

Shelly Andrews has been named the new assistant principal at James Wood High School effective July 1. Mrs. Andrews, who is currently an assistant principal at James Wood Middle School, succeeds Monty Loving who is retiring following a 38-year career with Frederick County Public Schools.

Graduating seniors and leaving staff in Frederick County may no longer have access to their school Google accounts after a specified amount of time. We highly recommend using the Google Archive or Transfer features to create copies of your data in Drive, Gmail, etc. Get instructions.

College Acceptance Rates in Frederick County Exceed State Average

According to the Virginia Public Access Project, 73.2 percent of Frederick County’s high school graduates who applied to a four-year public college or university in Virginia from 2014-2016 were accepted. That exceeds the average statewide acceptance rate of 69.8 percent and is one of the highest acceptance rates in the region.
